Today is the first day of official setbacks. I realize that this is one of many yet to come. Ground was supposed to be broken today for our house in Mankato...
Last week Lottie and I met Tim at the Title office and officially signed on the dotted lines. That meeting seemed so surreal. As most of the work and decisions are made ahead of time, that moment seemed unrealistically casual and almost irreverent to the commitment we were making.
But, we did it! And, then we decided to reverse the plans. Flip them right over. Simple, no? Well, it cost us several days as the draftsperson had to redo things. We were ignorantly thinking that the computer would do all that! Oh, well. We think it will be worth it, to configure the house away from the street lamp, among other benefits.
We expect that they will dig the hole next week.
